RedactIR Support

Learn how to select material, review potential privacy risks, adjust redactions, and inspect a flattened secure copy before sharing.

Support guide

Redact with human review at every important step.

Potential findings require your review. RedactIR does not provide legal advice or guarantee that every sensitive element will be detected.

Getting Started

  1. Open RedactIR.
  2. Select the screenshot or document image to review.
  3. Run the available privacy analysis.
  4. Review findings and document-safety indicators.
  5. Approve or adjust redactions.
  6. Review and export the secure copy.

Photos & File Access

You choose the material RedactIR processes. If Photos access was denied, open Apple device Settings, find RedactIR, and allow the appropriate Photos access. File availability and compatible formats can vary by source.

Understanding Findings

Findings identify potential sensitive elements for you to assess. They are not legal advice and do not guarantee that every sensitive element has been found. Always inspect the original and the final result.

Manual Review and Redaction

Confirm or exclude suggested findings and use the controls available in the current build to add, reposition, resize, or remove redactions. Keep only the areas you intend to cover.

Secure Export

A flattened, bitmap-burned secure copy applies the visible redactions directly to the exported image rather than leaving editable redaction layers. Inspect the final secure copy before saving or sharing it.

Batch Workflow

Batch processing is a RedactIR Pro capability. Import the selected items, process them, review each result, and export only after completing the final checks. No fixed batch limit is promised here.

RedactIR Pro and Restore Purchases

RedactIR Pro is a non-consumable, one-time lifetime unlock. Apple processes the purchase through StoreKit and associates it with your Apple Account. After reinstalling or changing devices, use the in-app Restore Purchases action when needed; restoration remains subject to Apple’s purchase system and the Apple Account used for the purchase.

Supported Platforms

RedactIR uses Apple Photos settings and Apple’s StoreKit purchase system. Consult the app’s verified store listing or the compatibility information shown on your Apple device for current platform and operating-system requirements.

Troubleshooting

  • No image available: verify Photos permission and file compatibility.
  • Detection seems incomplete: use a clear, high-resolution source and complete a manual review.
  • Export fails: verify available storage space and save permissions.
  • Pro is unavailable: confirm the correct Apple Account, allow network access for StoreKit, and use Restore Purchases.
  • The app becomes unresponsive: close and reopen it, then retry with the original source.
